What do we need to know about the work you are exhibiting at ‘Not Applicable’?

The Kids Aren't Alright, is a current project exploring the rise in mental health problems for youth in Greece. In this project  the images are affiliated with some archetypes, such as the orthodox church, pride, shame, oppressive unconditional love, and a slight idea of misguidance, enshrined in a hyper-social culture. This project is an attempt to better understand my own origins, what love means, and how it is expressed. By exploring the images that we are exposed to, I focus on what is here to stay, and what has gone. What should go, or what should stay. Which part of this is healing, and which part is reducing us to ruins. Are they the same thing or two sides to the same coin?

How do you interpret the term ‘Not Applicable’? How is it related to this period?

'Not Applicable' seems to me as the option we most often need in times we need to make decisions formed by an outdated society, run by 'expired' minds.
Male or Female, Ethnicity, and general concepts of duality, seem now to be something of the past, and most generations now understand the notion behind this.
'Not Applicable' are our former interactions and social standings pre-Covid. 'Not Applicable' are also the generations that are left behind because this world does not have the patience with them anymore. 'Not Applicable' is a look to those who get left behind.

What’s the best part about your practice?

Travelling and love. Especially travelling that leads to nowhere and love that is unexpected. Coming from strangers and previously unexplored territories.

What’s integral to your work as an artist?

Trusting in myself and focusing on what really matters. Prioritizing for what I have to say first, and being honest about it.

What’s your most embarrassing moment?

After the first lockdown I had my first big night with friends and beers. Many many beers later I decided to go home. As I was waiting for the elevator I got this huge urge to pee, and once I got to my house door, I dropped my keys, and my door wouldn't open. By the time I realized that my brother had also locked the top lock. I did not make it in time, so I peed myself. I just couldnt do anything about it. After a couple of decades I peed on myself again; there you go. A fresh embarrassing moment!

Teach us something we don’t know.

Cats that have more than three colors in their coating are always female. Only the XX chromosome (female) can produce the tri-color coating.

What piece of advice would you give?

Always do what you want to do, as long as you respect and do not disrupt others around you.

What title would you give to this chapter of your life?

Re-learning and understanding again things that I once thought worked a certain way.

Inspire us with a poem

Across the visible sky is run.
We too, of our lives, must make one day:
We never know, my love, nor want
To know of nights before or after
The little while that we may last.

- Fernando Pessoa
