About the work

This work explores the role of painting in the digital era and is built up through fragmentation, individual micro-stories as well as moments of sheer abstraction. Trade marks of digital culture like pixels and photoshop's distinctive solid brush stroke are harmoniously combined with sweeping gestures and elements from the art history heritage that can be detected in the use of space, the bold reference to the frame, and the symbolic little rabbit in the lower left corner. Its playful scenario is articulated in an unencrypted language that invites the viewer to interpret it from scratch, like a psychological test.
