About the work

Constant Presence of Absence ponders on the passing of time, our everyday environment versus our past and our ability to daydream. Seemingly mundane objects found in the neighbourhood where I live in Singapore create an opening for a space for dreaming in. Escaping direct definitions however, the formal aspects of painting themselves are the agents of remedy in this composition’s visual journey.
