ATTACK OF THE CRABS, 2022
Digital Print on Photo Paper
75 x 100 cm
29.5 x 39.3 in
About the work
Inspired by the results of a survey conducted in the Gulf of Mexico in 2019, almost ten years after the Deepwater Horizon platform accident where it was observed that most of the underwater life that should have existed in the area has been eliminated and instead mutated crustaceans with multiple calipers and tumors have occupied the area. The ‘Attack of the crabs’ is a digital collage made using pictures of the artist's sculptural pieces with the aim to create paradox underwater ecosystems consisting of human - crab hybrids.
