Art Advisory · Athens & London
Art advisory for collectors, from a first work to a lasting collection
Cream Athens is an art advisory working between Athens and London since 2017. We help collectors find, acquire and live with contemporary art, and we know the artists we work with personally.
Arrange a conversationWhat we do
Finding the right work
A shortlist shaped around your taste, your space and your budget, drawn from the artists we champion and from galleries and studios we know well.
Building a collection
A clear direction for your collection over time, so each acquisition adds to the whole rather than standing on its own.
Commissions
New work made for you, arranged directly with the artist, from the first idea to the finished piece.
Homes, offices and hotels
Art chosen for a specific space, working alongside architects, interior designers and the people who will live and work with it.
Viewings and studio visits
Private viewings with galleries and spaces in Athens, London and beyond, and visits to artists in their studios, so you meet the work before you decide.
After the purchase
Shipping, framing, installation and paperwork, arranged by us.
How we work
-
01
A first conversation
We start by asking what draws you to a work, where it will hang and what you would like your collection to become.
-
02
A considered shortlist
We bring you a small number of works we believe in, with the context behind each one.
-
03
Viewing and acquiring
You see the work in person or in detail, and we guide the acquisition from enquiry to delivery.
-
04
Staying with you
We follow the artists you collect and tell you first when they have new work.
Who we work with
First-time collectors buying original work for the first time and wanting someone experienced beside them.
Established collectors looking for new voices, early access to emerging artists, and a considered direction for their collection.
Architects, interior designers and companies choosing art for homes, offices and hotels.
Collectors who want to go further can join Patron’s House, our private membership with D Contemporary, London, where every new work is shown first.
Fees
Fees on request. Every collection is different, so we agree the scope with you first and confirm the fee before any work begins.
Questions
What does an art advisor do?
We find the work, check it and handle the purchase for you. In practice that means researching and shortlisting works, introducing you to artists and galleries, and helping your collection grow in a direction that makes sense to you.
How much does an art advisor cost?
Our fees are on request and agreed with you, in writing, before any work begins.
Do you work with first-time collectors?
Yes. We often work with people buying their first original work. We take the time to explain the process and help you find work you will love living with.
Where do you work?
We are based in Athens and London and work with galleries and spaces in both cities and around the world. Viewings are arranged wherever the work is, including at our partner gallery D Contemporary in Mayfair.
Can you arrange a commission?
Yes. We arrange commissions directly with the artists we champion and stay involved from the brief to delivery.
