About the work
Are women’s bodies and minds ever clean enough for this world? Inspired by the history of feminine hygiene products the artist creates cleaning products’ packaging on quilts, which are associated with feelings of comfort and coziness- thereby creating a contrast between the material choice and the traditional uninviting plastic packaging of such products. This results in a metaphorical "blanket of comfort”, which strongly references the source of discomfort.
